L.J. is a living legend as a mountain man. L.J. was voted New Mexico's outfitter of the year by New Mexico's Big Game Houndsmen Association. Unlike many outfitters in the industry today he did not quit or retire from a job, nor did he inherit money from someone, and call himself an outfitter. He has made his sole living full time, guiding ladies and gentlemen for over forty years. His hunts are strictly first class and fair chase. He did not go out and buy an old hound or borrow someone's hound and become an outfitter. He has breed, raised and trained his linage of treeing walkers hounds from the age of twelve. His veteran mountain lion hounds have been voted mt. lion dogs of the year for two years running. L.J. gives his knowledge as a mountain man to ensure you have a successful hunt. He has hunted bears and mountain lions from the borders of Old Mexico to the Canadian line. L.J. has had many a story written about his abilities to harvest big game. L.J.'s hunting team includes world class guide, Heidi Armstrong. New Mexico Registered Guide, Heidi Armstrong, grew up hunting and trapping in the rugged mountains of the Clearwater Drainage's of Idaho. She has hunted and guided in New Mexico for the past nineteen years. She is known for calling giant bull elk right up in your lap and the mule deer know to walk softly when she is on the move.
